Demolition underway of Frankfort's downtown convention center

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Officials say drivers that travel near the Frankfort's convention center can expect some changes while the building is being torn down. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it is working with contractors to manage the new flow of traffic around the demolition area.

Starting January 23, Kentucky 420, also known as Clinton Street, will be closed between Wilkinson Boulevard and St. Clair Street. The closure will last until the beginning of March. They say the traffic signals on both intersections will be converted to all-way stop flashing signals.

Officials say Mero Street will be converted to two-way traffic between Wilkinson Boulevard and Ann Street. in March, the whole street will be shut down until the spring of 2019.
