MILWOOD, Ky. (WKYT) - A man is facing charges after officers found evidence of child abuse.

Deputies looking for someone with active warrants found James Armes, 36, lying on a couch Sunday.

He resisted arrest they said, and at one point reached for his waistband.

State Police also assisted in the arrest.

Evidence led them to charge him with two counts of sodomy of a victim younger than 12, two counts of sexual abuse, and four counts of possession of child pornography, police said.

The victim was less than one year old, police said.

Armes was convicted of rape in the 3rd degree of a 14-year-old, according to Kentucky's sex offender registry.
