LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - If you like to shop on Thanksgiving, you won't be able to do so at stores inside Fayette Mall this year.
On Wednesday, the mall's owner, CBL Properties, announced their shopping centers will be closed on Thanksgiving. They will open at 6:00 a.m. on November 24, which is Black Friday. This is the second year in a row that Fayette Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving.
"The support that we received last year when we made this decision was overwhelmingly positive," said Stephen Lebovitz, President, and CEO, CBL Properties. "It is based on this feedback from our retail partners, employees of CBL and retailers at our properties, as well as the customers in our markets that we made the decision to again close our centers on Thanksgiving Day."
Stores and restaurants with exterior mall entrances will have the option to open on Thanksgiving. Access to mall common areas from those stores and restaurants will be restricted until 6:00 a.m. Friday.
