CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WKYT) - A fire in Cynthiana destroyed several rooms in one home and damaged the vinyl siding of a second.
The first started somewhere around 11 o' clock Saturday night.
A neighbor who was getting home from work at that time told WKYT's Victor Puente he saw smoke coming from a chimney, then from the windows.
"I heard people screaming and I didn’t know if anybody was in there, but two people came running out the front door and I just asked if everybody was out but they never said anything, they just said 'Save my house,'” Andrew Wiggins said.
Firefighters say all the people inside were able to make it out.
That fire destroyed several rooms and spread to a nearby tree.
"It was coming out of the windows and it just kept going up," Wiggins said.
The flames warped the vinyl on a neighboring home.
Wiggins and his family evacuated until firefighters had it under control.
"If they didn’t get here so quick it probably would have spread all the way," he said.
Firefighters say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
