LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The coverage of rain will grow across Kentucky today. Whatever is left of Irma will bring more gusty winds with some locally heavy downpours. Rains associated with what remains of Irma will be nothing like they were at the peak of landfall. This system will keep rain coming through the day. You won't find many breaks in the showers. Keep in mind that overall totals will remain on the low side. We will probably pick up around 1 to 2 inches of rainfall by the time it all wraps up.
Our gusty showers will continue through Thursday. All of that is still directly related to Irma. While we are under the cloud cover and showers you can expect temps to remain pretty cool for most of the week. Today will come in just a little warmer with highs in the low 70s. The remainder of the week will be in the 60s. Friday has some potential to lift back into the 70s.
The weekend forecast looks really nice with some warmer temperatures and mainly on the dry side. It looks absolutely wonderful!
