LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The calm pattern of today will give us even more time to prepare and analyze what's coming at the end of the week.
In the grand scheme of things, today looks like a real winner compared to the rest of the week. The first front of the week will arrive here on Wednesday. With it comes rounds of showers. These will be pesky chilly showers. That type of rain is something that we have gotten used to lately. I don't expect a big drop in temperatures between Wednesday & Thursday. There will be a little change with temps, just not a wild swing. We are tracking one of those for later!
Another big time system begins pushing into Kentucky by the end of the week and into the weekend. It starts with a big push of warm temps out ahead of it. Highs will probably surge into he 60s on Friday. The later it gets, the stronger those wind gusts will become Friday night. Rain chances will begin creeping up during that time as well.
This big storm system likely brings showers & storms to your Saturday. Many of those storms that develop will probably get strong or at least flirt with severe. Non-thunderstorm wind gusts could push 40MPH or higher at times. It will be quite the windy evening. The temperature set-up here will also be an interesting one. As far as an official high is concerned, I think we see 60s. The afternoon readings will not reflect that at all. It looks like those numbers will be much colder. I think those numbers will run more in the 40s-50s.
A few final blows from this system include temperatures tanking for Sunday and even a few flakes flying. Overall that colder air is trying to lock-in for the week of Thanksgiving. We'll keep our eyes on it!
