Jim Caldwell's Forecast | Pattern remains nice through the weekend before Irma reaches Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Today will set us up for an awesome weekend in Kentucky.

This weekend will feature a whole lot of sunshine and nice temperatures. It will be hard not to enjoy the overall look and feel of today and through Sunday. Most of us will see highs around 70 to 75 degrees. You will also find a mix of sun & clouds during that time period.

While we are tracking a super nice pattern around here, we will be watching the latest on Irma and the progress it makes. There are still a lot of model runs to go through before Irma actually gets here. There is a strong indication that it will get here and bring rain & gusty winds to our region. We are still several days out from any of that actually reaching the mountains of southeastern Kentucky first and then on through central Kentucky.

We'll keep you up-to-date this weekend.
