Jim Caldwell's Forecast | Snow is back in town

By  |

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - These snow showers and snow squalls are just getting started around here.

Let's go ahead and say hello and welcome back to true wintry weather. It will be hanging out with us for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. The snow chances that we track over the next couple of days will likely lead to some light accumulations in spots. In true snow shower/squall nature, we will find streaky accumulations. Better chances will be along the highest elevations of southeastern Kentucky.

The snow and cold will become commonplace around here again. Throw in a pretty solid system and we could have even more issues coming our way by the end of the week. It is loaded with potential accumulation and it has been a while since we have had to watch for wintry impacts from a system like this. Some of those recent big rainmakers had wintry stuff with them... we just didn't see any of it. This round gives us a much more action-packed forecast.

Be ready for wintry weather to throw your plans out of whack!

Have a great day!
