LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The warm-up begins today! Temperatures will likely climb to the 50 degree mark this afternoon.
This milder push of air has arrived and it will be hard to press out of here. Our warmer air will really try to lock in and run the overall temperature pattern. You will encounter 50s today and 60s for many later this week. All of this will come with a wet price tag attached to it.
Rounds of rain will begin lining up on Wednesday. This will be the first shot of rain that fills the skies across Kentucky. Once these rains begin, they will keep coming our way. Many of us will see these for days! While we could see some impressive totals spread out through the entire duration of these events, we will not see a tremendous amount over a short period of time. Yet, some water levels could be running on the higher side at times during the next couple of weeks.
At the end of this week, you might even see another brief round of wintry precipitation. It is another one of those systems that go from rain to snow. Timing on this Friday system will be critical in determining what we get! Not only is wintry weather an issue, but maybe just more of the plain old rain is an issue.
Tuesday, you look nice!
