LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Things will be heating up this week! Highs jumping back into the 90s before it is all said and done.
A frontal boundary will be wandering toward the area today. It likely sparks a few showers. Those chances will not be anything significant for us, but those chances are there. It looks like we will keep the clouds around with those showers. What that will mean for most of us is that we only see highs in the mid to upper 80s. This should keep the 90s away for a brief moment.
The front will be around the area again on Tuesday. Folks across Kentucky will remain on the hot and humid side of things. Any rain chance that pops-up will only be minimal. Most of us will experience a mainly dry forecast for the bulk of the week. That doesn't mean that you won't see any rain at all. Those chances will still be there, you just won't have quite as many to deal with.
The end of the week looks to recapture some of that really intense heat. Highs back in the low and maybe even a mid 90 degree reading. This will rival the hot spell we encountered last week. Especially, when the humidity is added into the equation. It will feel more like the upper 90s or close to the century mark.
