Keeneland holds Military Day at the Races

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Sunday was Military Day at Keeneland Race Track.

Despite the chill thousands of racing fans made it out to Keeneland Sunday, including a lot of active duty and veteran military members.

That included a couple from Louisiana, who was visiting Kentucky to see Derby winners California Chrome and American Pharoah.

"I think that's wonderful. The military does not get enough appreciation," Brenda Delle said. "Particularly the wives have a tough time of it sometimes,"

The events included free admission and food, and recognition of military families in the winners circle.

The last day of the spring meet is Friday, April 28.
