LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After yesterday's severe weather swept through the region, the Kentucky Horse Park is now cleaning up from some of their damage.
Many areas across Fayette, Scott, and other counties experienced straight line damaging winds from yesterday's severe weather. This caused trees to snap and many people to lose power across the counties. The Kentucky Horse Park was one of the areas hardest hit by the storms, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
"We came out here and most of the damage is just downed trees. We were very very fortunate in that no horses, no individuals were hurt. We did have a temporary stabling barn that did have about fifty horses in it that the roof came off. We were able to transfer all of those horses and no injuries there," said Laura Prewitt, executive director at the Horsepark.
