LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - WalletHub is out with a new study. Analysts ranked America's happiest states, and Kentucky was on the lower end of that scale. In fact, Kentucky ranked the 44th happiest state.
Analysts used 28 key parameters comparing emotional and physical well-being, work environment, and community and environment. Those metrics range from depression rate to sports participation rate to income growth.
Among the reasons for Kentucky's low ranking are a lack of adequate sleep and low sports participation.
Minnesota was the happiest overall state, followed by Utah, Hawaii, California, and Nebraska. The least happy state was West Virginia, followed by Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, and Arkansas.
