KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - While Monday's Solar Eclipse was a spectacular sight for many, for others, it led to disappointment.
Among the disappointed members of the viewing public was Campbell. The lack of total darkness drove the Northern Kentucky girl to tears.
"I was so excited, but now I'm not," she told her mom through a steady stream of tears. Campbell's mom, Amanda, recorded video of the reaction that has now gone viral.
"I wanted to see it." When her mom told her that she did see it, Campbell became more distraught. "No, I didn't. I wanted the darkness, and it didn't happen (sobs)."
Campbell was not alone. Many thought it would get darker during the Eclipse, but only those in the path of totality got the full effect. When Campbell's mom told her she would get a chance to see an Eclipse again in seven years, that was a deal breaker for the young Eclipse fan.
"No, I don't. It's over. It's done. We're done talking about it."
The video has more than 18,000 views on Facebook.
