Kentucky house committee passes over medical marijuana bill

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - One of the more high-profile house bills is not going up for a committee vote at the Kentucky House.

The House Judiciary Committee voted 14-4 to pass over HB 166, which would legalize medical marijuana in Kentucky.

After multiple days of testimony from supporters and opponents of the bill, the committee decided to pass it over, or essentially voting to not vote on the bill.

Rep. John Sims, D - Flemingsburg says he has not lost hope on the bill's passage despite it stalling in committee Wednesday.
