FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Heavy rain across Kentucky led the state's emergency management to open up the Emergency Operations Center Saturday night.
The first person got to the center around 11p.m. Saturday night.
"We activated last night based on reports we were getting from some of our southeastern counties in Kentucky," said Kentucky Emergency Management Assistant Director of Operations Wayne Burd. "Flooded roadways, homes that need to be evacuated."
The center acts as a hub of communication between counties dealing with flooding,
They work with government agencies and private businesses to get help to where it's needed, including several power outages Sunday morning.
They want to remind drivers to avoid flooded roads.
