Knox Co. mother accused of leaving 6 children home without food for hours

GRAY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Knox County woman is facing multiple charges after police say a woman left six children at home for hours without food.

Kentucky State Police say officers received a call about the children being left at home after they went to a neighbor's house to ask for food.

The children range from 13 years old to seven months old.

Police say when they searched the home they found drugs and paraphernalia inside it.

The mother, Mary Meek, 38, of Gray, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and multiple drug charges. She was booked into the Knox County Detention Center.

The children were removed from the home and placed with another family member.
