ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The last section of Interstate 75 through Rockcastle County that is still four lanes will be widened to six lanes soon.
The $80.9 million project is set to begin on Sunday, just south of the current construction zone. The project will take place between mile marker 55 and 64 in both directions.
On Sunday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews begin to put asphalt on the outside shoulders.
Two bridges over the interstate will also be replaced as part of the project.
The project is expected to be finished in October 2020.
