LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- The candidates running for Lexington Mayor will have a shot to give their ideas and answer some question during an upcoming forum.

WKYT's Bill Bryant is moderating the forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Lexington 6 p.m. May 7 at the Farish Theater in the Lexington Public Library.

All current candidates running for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Mayor position have indicated they will be attending.

In the running are Linda Gorton, Ike Lawrence, Teresa Isaac, Ronnie Bastin, Kevin Stinnett, Skip Horne and William Weyman.

Candidates will give open and closing speeches along with answering written questions.

“The forums provide a real opportunity for voters to see where candidates stand on important issues and compare them side by side,” said Bill Bryant, news anchor at WKYT. “I’ve moderated forums for more than thirty years and it’s more important now than ever to get beyond the hype and find out what people who are seeking important offices are all about.”

You can watch the live stream of the forum on WKYT.com and the Lexington Herald-Leader's Kentucky.com. WLAP plans to air the debate on a later debate.
