LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Cities across the nation are competing for the new Amazon headquarters. The deadline to submit an application is Thursday.
Business leaders in Louisville confirm the city submitted an application to Amazon.
A tweet from Louisville Forward reads, in part, "Our bid is full of 'Louisville Love' and represents the best of what we collectively offer as a region."
Governor Matt Bevin encouraged Kentucky leaders to reach out to Amazon.
The company says they plan to spend more than $5 billion on the project that will create 50,000 jobs.
There are dozens of cities competing for the coveted contract. Amazon says it will announce the winning city in 2018.
