Man accused of stealing 500 cases of snack cakes from Williamsburg storage facility

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - A man was arrested Monday after Williamsburg police say he stole 500 cases of snack cakes from a storage facility.

Police responded to a storage facility on Happy Hollow Road after receiving a burglary call. When they arrived they noticed one of the storage units was broken into. A local food vendor was renting the facility and used it to store snack cakes.

Police also say a suspect stole $400 along with the snack cakes.

Investigators received a tip about a man, later identified as 49-year-old James Carroll, selling snack cakes on Facebook. The obtained a search warrant and recovered 185 boxes of snack cakes.

Carroll was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and booked in the Whitley County Jail.
