LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An ambulance rushed a man to the hospital with critical injuries following a crash in the area of Hamburg Pavilion on Friday morning. He later died.
The Fayette County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 57-year old George James Mead.
Lexington Police say Mead lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Pleasant Ridge at the intersection of Timber Creek. The driver was traveling away from Man o'War on Pleasant Ridge when the crash happened.
Police closed that portion of Pleasant Ridge Drive while they investigated.
According to police, Mead was wearing a half-shell helmet. He died around 10:45 Friday morning at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
