ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A grand jury has indicted an Estill County man on murder and assault charges following a deadly October wreck.

The indictment says Austin N. Shockley, 23, of Ravenna "operated a motor vehicle under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life." The grand jury also accuses Shockley of being under the influence.

The Oct. 15, 2017 wreck killed General J. Bowen and injured Mason Powell. Police said Shockley's Dodge Truck crossed the center line on the Highway 499 Bypass near Irvine and collided with the Volkswagen occupied by the two victims.

Bowen was pronounced dead at the scene.
