LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The referee behind the controversial call on UK's Benny Snell in the Music City Bowl, says he's receiving threats.
Pac-12 referee Chris Coyte ejected Snell for "contact with the official" during the game in December.
Many disagreed with the call, and the Cats lost in the bowl game to Northwestern.
The referee says he received threatening calls on his cell phone and office phone after the game, according to an ESPN report.
This isn't the first threat case involving the Big Blue Nation.
NCAA basketball referee John Higgins filed a lawsuit last year after fans left him threatening messages.
