HEBRON, Ky. (WKYT)- Travelers can expect to see a rise in the price of parking at one of Kentucky's busiest airports.
The board at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport decided Monday to increase parking rates and build a new economy parking lot.
According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, travelers can expect to see the rates rise $1 per day.
The new economy lot the board approved will be for employees of the airport and other passengers. Its location is expected to be on Donaldson Road. Officials say the shuttle that delivers people to and from the parking lot will carry passengers every 15 minutes and will drop passengers off at the transportation center.
Airport officials anticipate the new parking area will open in the first quarter of 2018.
The new parking rates will generate an additional $3.4 million.
Officials say the rates will go into effect January 3.

Valet lot will rise from $24 to $25
Garage prices will go from $15 to $16
