LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of a triple-fatality crash on U.S. 150 in Lincoln County Monday afternoon. The crash was near Horton Cutoff Road just east of Stanford.
According to the Lincoln County coroner, the three people killed were all in the same vehicle.
The coroner identified the victims as Deric Coleman, Brenden Hays, and Mickey Puumala. We are told they are all from Crab Orchard.
"They were just really good, outgoing people. You couldn't ask for anybody better," said Deven Brock, who knew Brenden and Mickey.
Investigators say the car was passing another vehicle traveling toward Crab Orchard when it struck an oncoming truck.
"One person was ejected, during that collision, the other two were still inside, all three were not wearing a seat belt," said Kentucky State Trooper Robert Purdy.
They say the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators do not believe weather played a major role in the crash.
The coroner said an autopsy will be performed on Hays as he was the driver.
