WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - One person is dead and a second was airlifted to the hospital after a serious crash involving a log truck and a passenger vehicle Monday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on East Highway 92 about 4 miles south of Monticello.

Wayne County Emergency Management Director Sherwin Corder says a man in the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The Wayne County Coroner has identified that man as Timothy Gregory, 28.

A woman who was also in the vehicle was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center to be treated for unknown injuries. She has been identified by Kentucky State Police as Heidi Kennedy, 31. She was last listed in critical condition.

The driver of the log truck was not injured.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash. State Police say Gregory and Kennedy were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
