OWSLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- An Owsley County road is being shut down while officials repair a sinkhole.
According to Kentucky Department of Highways, KY 708 in Owsley County will be shut down on Saturday, October 21 at 8 a.m.to make repairs to a sinkhole that is developing on the roadway.
Officials say KY 708 will be shut down at the mile point 2.25, just south of the Lee County line.
Kentucky Department of Highways is urging drivers to use either KY 30, KY 11, and KY 52 if traveling through Lee County. Drivers traveling through Breathitt County should use either KY 30 or KY 52.
Officials say in the case of inclement weather, the roadwork will be moved to another day.
