LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control officials say a Lexington citizen made a disturbing discovery on Friday involving a three-month-old pit bull.
In a release from LFACC, they say early Friday morning a concerned citizen called the department about a dog tied in a trash bag on Owsley Avenue in Lexington.
Upon arrival, officials say they found a three-month-old pit bull puppy in the tied up trash bag barely alive. They say they immediately took the dog to their department for treatment.
In the following days, officials say the dog is making tremendous improvements. They say they plan to keep the dog in the shelter to continue to observe the puppy's health.
They ask anyone with information about the case to call their department at 859-255-9033.
