MOREHEAD, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating a massive theft from a construction site at a Kentucky hospital.

Four different companies are working at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead on an expansion project. Last Friday, police say someone took advantage of the exposed building, stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper wiring and tools.

One company alone took a $12,000 hit, according to a manager on location.

Construction crews spent several hours putting up doors and blocking entryways to keep their site secure.

Officials are now looking for information on a dark colored box truck that was spotted off 2nd Street and Flemingsburg Road, between midnight and 6 a.m. on October 27th.

Captain Kyle Callahan said, "We've checked surveillance at one gas station; we've got others ones we need to check. If there is any way that we can get a better description or maybe even a tag number from it."
