FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Frankfort police are investigating two burglaries, which happened sometime late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the Franklin County Humane Society and the VFW on East Main Street.
We are told someone broke the glass door at the VFW and took about $300 worth of alcohol.
The humane society also had a window broken and petty cash stolen. This is the second time this month that the non-profit has had to deal with a burglary.
"You know, it's very hard to understand why someone would target us," said Kerry Lowary, shelter manager. "We have a limited budget so it has an impact on us."
Police are not sure at this time if the crimes are related, but say they could be.
So far, no arrests have been made. Police are offering up to $1,000 in rewards for information leading to an arrest.
