CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKYT) - A Pulaski County boy is dead after authorities in Ohio found him in a pool.

Cincinnati CBS affiliate WKRC reports Grayson Cabell, 2, died at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Tuesday.

A detective in Union Township, Ohio told the television station crews were called to a home where the boy apparently reached for a toy in the pool.

Detectives did not know how long the boy was in the pool, and they believe a gate to the pool was left open.

Cabell was from Science Hill, and family members call the death a "horrible accident" on their online fundraising page.

Cabel's aunt Michelle Lanham released a statement upon news of his death.

"My family and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hundreds of people who have offered their condolences, made donations to my nephew, Grayson Cabell’s GoFundMe page, and have been praying for him and all of us since this nightmare began on Saturday afternoon. Our precious boy passed away on June 12, 2018 at 9:57 am at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. We are devastated to say the least and would appreciate the time and privacy needed to process this terrible tragedy as a family."

Lanham suggested for donations to be made to the online fundraising page or Cincinnati Children's Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
