MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT)- People in Magoffin County are beginning to get an idea of a new trail could look like.
Earlier this month, Congressman Hal Rodgers gave the Royalton Trail Committee a $1.9 million dollar grant to use on the trail.
Officials say the money will be used to turn the land into camping areas, horse stables, a covered stand and a farmer's market.
The president of the committee, Victoria Doucette, believes that the improvements will bring people in.
"We're really excited, you know," Doucette said. "This area right now, people don't realize it, but these are the best days they've had for a long time ... with tourism.
Doucette said construction should start in the coming months.
