MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Multiple crashes slowed down traffic on I-75 on Monday morning. Both occurred in the northbound lanes. The first crash was near the Fayette County line, at mile marker 97. A semi overturned there. Later, there was a second crash nearby after that involved several cars.
Police have not said what caused the crashes, but it was raining at the time. Truck drivers say the slick roads can cause big problems.
"It takes us at least nearly half a football field to be able to slow down especially in the rain. You can't use your jack break or nothing like that. It's strictly brakes and people just think it's our fault most the time. sometimes it is, but a lot of the times its other people not paying attention," said Ryan Reed.
There was also a crash on I-75 northbound in Rockcastle County. Police say a car ran off the road in a construction zone. The driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
