WARREN Co. Ky, (WKYT)- Kentucky State Police responded to the residence of Senator Rand Paul in Warren County following a reported assault.
On arrival, police determined that Rene Boucher had intentionally assaulted Senator Paul causing small cuts to the nose and mouth area.
According to an arrest citation, Senator Paul told police that his neighbor came onto his property and tackled him from behind.
The citation said Paul may have suffered a rib injury and is in the process of being seen by a physician.
Boucher was charged with one count of assault and is in the Warren County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
