Stabbing victim jumps out of ambulance in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A stabbing victim was on his way to the hospital when he jumped out of an ambulance in Lexington.

The Winchester Fire Department says around 11:15 p.m. Sunday they were dispatched to Broadway in reference to an assault.

The victim was being transported to a Lexington hospital when officials say he became combative. The EMS crew pulled over on I-64 near the Haley Pike exit. That's where officials say the victim jumped out of the ambulance.

Lexington police were asked to help search for the patient around 11:45 p.m. He was found around 12:10 a.m. on a nearby service road.

The victim was put back in the ambulance and transported to the hospital without any further incidents.

Winchester Police say the victim was stabbed near Franklin Avenue during an argument with a man who he knows.

Police have not made any arrests.
