Thanksgiving gas prices take increase from last year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- Traveling to celebrate Thanksgiving this year? Experts say you can expect an increase in gas prices in comparison from last year.

This time last year, prices sat around $2 a gallon. According to GasBuddy.com the price around the state now sits at $2.30 a gallon.

WKYT drove around Lexington on Tuesday and found the average prices for the city was $2.15 a gallon.

If you are traveling out of state to celebrate the holiday, officials say the national average gas price is $2.53 a gallon
