Trump, Pence offer condolences over Marshall Co. High School shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKYT) - President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence offered condolences to the victims and their families of a deadly school shooting that happened Tuesday in Marshall County.

Vice President Mike Pence issues a statement on twitter Wednesday morning, saying that, "We grieve with the people of Kentucky who seek comfort & Healing during this moment of heartbreak."

The vice president also thanked the first responders saying, "We commend the courageous and heroic acts of law enforcement who responded quickly and are grateful for their efforts."

President Trump later released a statement on twitter as well, saying he had spoken to Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin about the shooting. The president wrote, "My thoughts and prayers are with Bailey Holt, Preston Cope, their families, and all of the wounded victims who are in recovery. We are with you!"

Baily Holt, 15, and Preston Cope, 15 were shot an killed by a 15 year old student Tuesday morning at Marshall County High School in Benton. 18 others were injured.
