ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police in southern Kentucky have made two arrests in a murder that happened more than four months ago.

Jonathan Taylor will answer to charges of murder, robbery, and burglary in the Rockcastle County District Court. Kentucky State Police also charged Kayla Pittman with hindering apprehension in the case.

Police charged the two for a deadly home invasion that happened at a home on Abway Street in Mount Vernon on Jan. 6. Police found the body of 71-year-old Bennie Sanders inside.

According to police, Taylor forced his way inside the home, killed Sanders, and then stole from him. Police say they were able to connect Taylor to the crime after getting interviews with several witnesses.

Police arrested Pittman a month ago on drug offenses. They charged him Thursday with Sanders' murder.
