PALO ALTO, Ca. (CNN) - The Tesla Model X, an all-electric SUV, earned the first perfect score from the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration.
The SUV scored high in front, side, and skid crash tests, but it was the low risk of rollover that put this SUV over the top.
SUV's typically have a high center of gravity and therefore are prone for rollovers. The Tesla Model X has a much lower center of gravity thanks to their heavy battery packs.
This perfect safety rating will cost you though. Starting price for the Model X is a hefty $82,500.
