WKYT's Bromley named Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – WKYT sports anchor Rob Bromley has been named the Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year. The National Sports Media Association made the announcement on Wednesday.

Each year, the NSMA members select a Sportscaster of the Year in each state. Winners will be honored in June in North Carolina.

WKYT sports reporter/producer Dick Gabriel won the award in 1996 and 2000.

The Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences inducted Bromley into the chapter’s Silver Circle in 2015.

The Silver Circle recognizes members for 25 or more years of service.

Bromley came to work at WKYT-TV in Lexington in 1977. His colleagues say there is no media figure in Kentucky as well-known and beloved by his viewers, especially when it comes to covering UK basketball.
