McCracken County, Ky. (WKYT)- As Central Kentucky prepares for the incoming winter storm expected to make landfall Friday evening, Officials in Western Kentucky say they are experiencing icy road conditions making a tough time for travelers.
Officials in McCracken County say a Friday morning semi crash started the day off. They say the semi-truck slid on ice blocking all westbound lanes on I-24. Officials say this was just one of the many collisions they are seeing in the area.
Road crews say they are continuing to try to beat the system but there is still plenty of ice and snow to come.
Officials in Central Kentucky have crews out on roads working 12-hour shifts. Officials in Lexington told WKYT on Thursday; they plan to have 40 trucks out at all times during the incoming Friday weather.
