Whitley Co. Deputies: Woman charged after DUI crash with child in car

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman is facing DUI and several other charges after she drove drunk and crashed with a child in the car, according to the Whitley County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found hr car on the side of Interstate 75 Tuesday night.

The driver, Crystal Miller, told them her car overheated, but they eventually found she had hit a tractor trailer, according to a release from the Whitley County Sheriff's Office.

An child, 8, and Terry Sibrava, were both in the car, along with a drink in a cup and three bottles of liquor, deputies said.

Miller is charged with wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, DUI, and possession of an open container in a vehicle, deputies said.

Sibrava is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana, possession of an open container in a vehicle, and alcohol intoxication, deputies said.

The child was placed with a family member, the release said.
