JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Florida is still feeling the brunt of Irma's wrath and many people are left worrying about their loved ones.
Florence Life says her 56-year-old son, Kevin, lives in Key West.
She has not heard from him or his wife since Friday. The last time they talked she asked him to leave town, but he was worried about his old car and feared getting stuck on the highway.
With the loss of cell phone service and power outages in the area, Life is left wondering if her son is OK.
"You just want to hear that voice," she said. "If I could just hear him say, mom! That's all I need. I can't help but feel they are OK, but there is still that doubt."
Life said she knows her son plans ahead and has generators and water. However, she cannot help but worry.
She said she is leaning on her faith in God and close friends to help her during this tough time.
She is just one of many people who are worrying about their loved ones as Hurricane Irma takes its toll.
