Worker at Laurel County women's care office arrested for prescription forgery

LONDON, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - London Police arrested a woman accused of illegally obtaining prescription drugs.

Police booked Tabitha Roberts into the Laurel County Detention Center on Monday. Jail officials released her on the same day. Police arrested the 34-year old in Manchester.

Friday, leaders at London Women's Care received a call from a pharmacy in Manchester, concerning the legitimacy of a prescription.

Arresting officer Gary Proffitt told WKYT sister station WMYT , "They were able to find out that one of the prescriptions had been turned in by one of their employees." Proffitt added, "She filled it out the same as if you went to the doctor and received a prescription for yourself. Then she ultimately signed one of the doctor's names to the prescription before she turned it in."

Police say Roberts worked at London Women's Care.

Police charged Roberts with theft of prescription blanks for legend drugs, forgery of a prescription for A.C.S., and possession of a controlled substance.
