LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Several accidents along one of Lexington's busiest roads made the morning commute a little more congested.
A driver trying to merge from the Nicholasville Road exit ramp onto New Circle Road clipped another car. Police say that caused a chain reaction involving four other vehicles that rear-ended each other.
Emergency crews took one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
The accident caused a significant backup on New Circle Road that stretched from the Nicholasville Road exit back past the Alumni Drive exit.
Around 9:00 a.m., police said they hoped to have the scene clear soon.
