Former Louisville star Rozier dead after heart attack

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Former Louisville big man Clifford Rozier is dead after suffering from a heart attack. Family posted about his passing on Facebook.

Rozier, 45, was Florida’s Mr. Basketball in 1990 and transferred to Louisville from North Carolina. He averaged 18.1 points and 11.1 rebounds as a senior. His 15-of-15 shooting against Eastern Kentucky that season remains an NCAA record.

The 6-foot-11 Rozier was drafted with the 16th overall pick by the Warriors in 1994. He played for the Timberwolves and the Raptors during his four-year NBA career.

“For the last few days my brother big Cliff been fighting for his life after having a heart attack,” Kobie Rozier wrote on Facebook Friday afternoon. “Today he lost his fight. Rest easy big bro and I’ll see you again one day.”
