LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky quarterback Drew Barker announced via Twitter Tuesday night that he intends to transfer to another school for his graduate season.
The junior quarterback will be eligible to play immediately next season. He did not specify where he would be transferring.
Barker's UK career took a turn for the worse when he suffered a back injury during the New Mexico State game in 2016. Stephen Johnson took over the starting role and never gave it up.
As Johnson's backup this season, Barker completed 4 of 7 passes for 49 yards.
Kentucky signed JUCO standout quarterback Terry Wilson during the December early signing period. Wilson is expected to compete with Gunnar Hoak for UK's starting job.
