LCA names Menifee as new girls' basketball coach

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lexington Christian Academy announced on Tuesday its hiring of Mike Menifee as new girls basketball coach.

Menifee comes to LCA after two seasons at Danville.

While at Danville, Menifee compiled a 34-25 record, including 18-9 this past season.

"Though it is very hard to leave my players at Danville, I am excited about the opportunity at LCA," Menifee said. "I was very impressed with the young people at LCA when I was there before and I am excited to get the chance to lead the girls basketball program."

Prior to his time at Danville, Menifee was an assistant boys coach at LCA under Nate Valentine.

"I am very excited to name Mike as our girls basketball coach," LCA athletic director Terry Johnson said. "Not only is he a terrific basketball coach, he is a man of tremendous integrity that will be a great influence on our young people."

Menifee replaces Kent Miller, who guided the Eagles for two seasons, before stepping down last month.
