MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Six home contests, plus the season opener at Eastern Kentucky, highlight Morehead State's 2018 football schedule announced this week.
The Eagles will host two games in September, three in October and the season finale in November. The season opens on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Eastern Kentucky. All game times and ticket information will be finalized soon. MSU has led the PFL in home attendance for four consecutive seasons.
MSU last played at EKU in 2014.
The home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 8 against Mount St. Joseph, a Division III team from the Cincinnati area. The Lions finished 6-4 and 5-3 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2017, and it will mark the first meeting between MSU and MSJ.
Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay will make its first visit to Jayne Stadium since 2006 on Sept. 15, and that contest will be part of Family Weekend festivities. The Governors concluded 2017 at 8-4 and second place in the league and claimed a home win over MSU.
Following a bye week on Sept. 20, Morehead State will run through the remainder of the campaign with all Pioneer League games, starting on Sept. 29 at Butler.
The Eagles will host PFL foes San Diego (Oct. 6), Valparaiso (Oct. 20), Marist (Oct. 27) and Drake (Nov. 17).
This year's Homecoming activities are set for Valpo game on Oct. 20.
Road PFL battles also include Davidson (Oct. 13), Stetson (Nov. 3) and Dayton (Nov. 10). Morehead State will make its first trip to Stetson since the Hatters joined the conference.
